fractions of a second is a photo zine that compiles images of light and dark, sun and shadow — most of which existed only within fractions of a second, before the wind and sun decided to shift their course once more, beyond my control.
Over the years, it’s become ever clearer how nothing — people, places, circumstances — remains the same, not even for a blink. Moments pass us by so quickly we sometimes barely remember. Through this zine, I yearn to grasp the fleeting without possession — to document them as if having seen. Every page bleeds through the next, and every page allows light to shine through the images — something I hope the person who picks up the zine will have the chance to experience.
The zine is made up of three types of paper, including a washi-type paper as its cover — a delicate sheet that will slowly wither with time, mirroring the impermanence of the zine itself, of light and shadow, and of everything at large.
fractions of a second was launched at Singapore Art Book Fair 2025, and will move on to Bangkok Art Book Fair 2025. They are also up for purchase via my Instagram here, and will be for sale in Tokyo this coming 2026.
