The book was developed closely with Mr Tan’s family, bringing together more than 70 photographs by the late Cultural Medallion recipient, from his iconic colour derivative montages to a series of never-before-seen images made in the final moments of his life.
The book is filled with beautiful images from beginning to end. And I wanted each one of them to have its own stage. Thus, every photograph stands alone across the page. The index at the end of each section then brings together the title and date of each work, alongside personal notes and logs written by Mr Tan himself.
This photobook accompanies the retrospective colour-filled exhibition that took place at Objectifs Chapel from 8 August to 27 September 2026. Copies are available for purchase at Objectifs’ bookstore.
